The Sable Armistice
Aderra retains local civil government. A guarantor cannot annex it without a future locally approved political settlement.
Citizenship is not determined by species or national origin. Enclaves retain limited cultural and administrative rights within local law.
Heavy combat ships are excluded from a one-AU sphere centered on Aderra except for explicitly agreed emergency entries. This is a legal demilitarized zone, not a physical wall.
Capped inspection and rescue contingents have limited weapons, boarding authority and notice requirements. Declaring rescue does not confer unlimited occupation powers.
New strategic foundries, permanent external garrisons and exclusive military excavations are prohibited inside the protected jurisdiction.
Joint inspection powers apply to specified violations; they do not confer ownership over private property or unrestricted access to people.
Outstanding claims on Flint, Calyx and particular wartime districts are frozen pending settlement rather than erased.
The guarantors retain their fleets outside the zone. The armistice limits particular acts around a population rather than abolishing military power.
Aderra in the armistice years
Armistice Year dating gives the four powers a shared reference. It does not assign an Earth calendar date to these events.
AY −143 · Modern settlement
Modern settlers established communities on Aderra long before the current peace. Human, Vharuun and Ilyr districts grew beside one another; Nacre residents made homes among them.
AY −12 to AY 0 · The Twelve-Year War
An interstate war consumed fleets and damaged inhabited worlds. This conflict is distinct from the much older Nacre revolution.
AY 0 · The Sable Armistice
The armistice ended the war and protected Aderra’s neutrality. Heavy warships were excluded by agreement. The exclusion was a legal boundary around an inhabited system, never a barrier across space.
AY 19 · A discovery beneath a home
Nineteen years of peace gave Aderra’s residents time to build lives together. A repair beneath the Crownless Basin reached an ancient industrial complex and a person asking whether the war had ended.
